Welcome to the

Peak Park Preserved Bus Gathering

Now in its 15th year, the Peak Park Preserved Bus Gathering is organised jointly by Transpire and the Chesterfield 123 Preservation Group and has become a popular annual event in the transport rally calendar. This year we will be holding it a few months later than normal, so hope you will be able to join us between 10am and 5pm on

Sunday 22nd August 2021

Located at the Peak Rail Rowsley South station (in between Bakewell and Matlock), our event normally attracts more than 50 vintage buses and coaches and a highlight is the opportunity to travel on some of these vehicles as well as on the scenic heritage railway to Darley Dale and Matlock.

Our vintage bus services run to Matlock, Darley Dale and Bakewell from approximately 11.30am onwards and in addition to the vintage bus services and the steam and diesel hauled train service operated by Peak Rail, there will also be a display of static vehicles and transport related sales stalls at Rowsley South.

Of added interest at Rowsley is the Ashover Light Railway Society, who have recently made Rowsley South Station their base with the aim of recreating there, the Ashover Butts terminus of this former narrow gauge line that closed in 1950. The Society has already erected a depot and a length of track at Rowsley and their members are only too happy to demonstrate their progress to visitors.

We hope that you will be able to join us this summer and if you own a preserved bus or coach and would like to bring it to our event, please visit this website again in the spring to find out how to enter it free of charge.
